BREAST CAncer Awareness Month 2013

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and several events and promotions have been planned throughout the community this year, many of which benefit the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research at the OSUCCC – James. Listed below are some of the activities and events that are scheduled. And to honor the spirit of this month, take a minute to remind the women in your life to schedule their annual James mammogram. Seeds for hope

| Steyer Seeds, founded in 1985, is in the business of selling and promoting seed to farmers across the Midwestern states of Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Michigan. We are proud to be partnering with Steyer Seeds who is making a $1-$3 donation, for purchases of any Steyer soybean variety that is treated pink for breast cancer awareness. 100% of the donation will go to the Spielman Fund. | Give cancer the boot |
Durango, a division of Rocky Brands, Inc., is promoting breast cancer awareness by donating $2 per pair sold of its Pink Ribbon western boot, up to $35,000 annually, to the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Patient Assistance.
“The effects of breast cancer are felt all over the world but we are especially conscious of the Durango associates and consumers close to home who are affected,” said Kristin Dille, Durango Marketing Manager. “The opportunity to partner with the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Patient Assistance allows us to lend our support to patients and their families as they fight to give cancer the boot.”

Join Donatos and the Spielman family in their love of pizza and benefit the Fund! Eat pizza in October and 25 cents will be donated to the Spielman Fund for every large pizza ordered.
Heads Up Bands
Heads Up Bands™ are non-slip head bands that will keep even the finest or curliest of hair in place. You can purchase authentic Spielman Fund Headbands and 100 percent of the proceeds from every $15 band sold will go to the Spielman Fund (at participating stores and online). Kroger Pink Ribbon Campaign
Don’t forget to buy your pink ribbon for a dollar at your local Kroger store. In addition, be on the lookout for pink tag items throughout the store, all to support the Spielman Fund. Since 2004, Kroger has been a major corporate sponsor and supporter of the OSUCCC – James. Through their efforts, Kroger has donated over $2.6 million to the OSUCCC – James and the Spielman Fund.
Panera Bread
In conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, all central Ohio Panera Bread bakery-cafes will be supporting the cause with pink ribbon bagels. A portion of the proceeds from every bagel sold will benefit the Spielman Fund. You also can conveniently pre-order them for group events, staff meetings or parties. Forms will be in stores. Stop by Panera Bread in October to pick up your delicious pink ribbon bagel or surprise your colleagues by bringing bagels to your next meeting!
