BLOCK TOURNAMENT SET FOR SCIOTO COUNTRY CLUB

Mark your calendar to join the Block family of Columbus and the OSUCCC-James for the 27th Herbert J. Block Memorial Tournament on Monday, June 28, at a new venue: Scioto Country Club. Founded in 1916, Scioto Country Club’s heritage is among the richest in all of golf; the course perennially ranks among the best in the nation. Proceeds from the 2010 tournament will support ProjectONE, Ohio State’s $1 billion expansion and renovation initiative for its health sciences campus – a project that will include a new cancer hospital. The tournament honors the memory of a Columbus businessman who died of cancer in 1981. Since then, his family has worked on behalf of cancer research. Fueled even more by the loss of their mother, Maxine Block, to cancer several years later, the Block family has raised nearly $3.5 million through their tournament to support patient care, education and research at the OSUCCC-James.
